Window Wonderland: Fanciful and farcical displays put shoppers in a festive mood

TIME WARNER CENTER. Twelve high-tech LED stars of aluminum and Plexiglas, outfitted with 156 strobe lights and 11,000 fiber-optic points, are suspended in the skyscraper’s atrium. Just add music – which Brooklyn design company Holiday Image Inc. did by recomposing four sections of “The Nutcracker” to Jazz, World, Urban and Electronica beats – and the groovy celestials turn more colors than the ballet’s enchanted toys.
