President, Chief Executive Officer
Executive Creative Director
Matthew Schwam is a widely recognized creative visionary, brand strategist, commercial and retail designer known for his revenue generating iconic visual presentations and marketing strategies. With over 20 years of experience, his vision has guided corporate leaders nationwide.
Matthew started his career with an over-the-top lighting design that clad the entire Bloomingdales building on 59th Street. His next iconic design was the world-renowned snowflakes sound and light show on the facade of Saks Fifth Avenue across from Rockefeller Center. In 2005, he imagined Holidays Under the Stars for the Time Warner Center. Here, he designed twelve 14-foot stars and created the largest indoor RGB sound and light show ever created. He is responsible for redesigning the big red ribbon that wraps the Cartier Building on Fifth Avenue and 52nd Street. Schwam is also charged each holiday season with decking out Macys, Lord and Taylor, Polo Ralph Lauren, The Chrysler Building, The Met Life Building, The Bloomberg Building, The World Financial Center and other big-brand managed locations nationwide.
Matthew’s retail distribution practice has delivered international programs to Gap, Ann Taylor, Victoria’s Secret, Sephora, Bebe, H&M and others. The common thread with all of the work is the way each design withstands the test of time. This new website, www.holidayimagellc.com, is a retrospective of the work that Matthew and Holiday Image have delivered to New York City and others over the past decade.
Matthew has served as President, CEO and Executive Creative Director of Holiday Image since its inception in 2005. From the start, he had a singular vision to create a full service design, build and sourcing firm to execute the most demanding creative visions leveraging an international factory base to produce highly customized results. In his capacity at Holiday Image, he is most focused on creating and realizing brand visions for his customers. His ability to see and create quality and beauty is as natural for him as breathing.
Matthew’s design approach is synergistic with his love for design, architecture, materials, construction and supporting brand identity. His holistic approach recognizes the interdependencies between vision, materials, factory capabilities, logistics, operations and installations. He has built a network of factories across China, Taiwan, India and the United States to support his wide-ranging customer-centric design aesthetic. He now spends 4 to 6 weeks each year traveling overseas to factories, learning manufacturing processes and fostering relationships.
Matthew has been featured as an industry leader in the Wall Street Journal, HGTV, Inc. Magazine, VMSD, DDI, CNN, The New York Times and Fuji TV.
A graduate of Boston University, Mr. Schwam holds a BSBA in Business Management.
